  3. My last entry for week 4 of the #getinthekitchenchallenge. This is my one pot meal, a traditional beef stew. Carrots, button mushrooms, purple potatoes, sweet onion and cubed chuck. It's always hard photographing meats and stews because they have a tendency to just look "brown". Had to prop those carrots up to get some color Anyway, my thanks to the #apronsquad for getting me back in the kitchen, the challenges were fun and got me out to the farmer's market more in the last month than I had been all last year. I am thrilled to have won the first week, but the lasting motivation was the real prize. You guys are awesome! January 30, 2017

  5. Week 4 of the @hedleyandbennett #GetInTheKitchenChallenge. The first challenge from @eyeswoon is to cook a whole fish. This is a white/striped bass hybrid from @santamonicaseafood. Simply roasted with lemon, fennel, garlic, parsley and watermelon radish. #apronsquad January 26, 2017

  6. Week 3 of the @hedleyandbennett #GetInTheKitchenChallenge is to get in someone else's kitchen. Specifically, a restaurant that has been around for over 15 years. So we went to The Apple Pan, a West LA staple since 1947. Burgers, pie and soda in paper cones…what more do you need! January 22, 2017

  7. I was barricaded in my apartment for 4 hours today by the LAPD while they searched for a robbery suspect around my building. Didn't have a chance to make it to the Women's March, but the energy looked incredible! January 22, 2017

  8. For the @hedleyandbennett week 2 #GetInTheKitchenChallenge, we need to pick a humble vegetable and make it the star. These are roasted purple sweet potatoes, papaya, Serrano chilies, sweet onion, pumpkin seeds and balsamic. This week's challenges are from @saladforpresident. Hope you enjoy! #saladforpresident #apronsquad January 13, 2017

  9. Holy crap! I won the first week of the @hedleyandbennett #GetInTheKitchenChallenge! This was a blast. If nothing else, getting back in the swing of cooking would have been enough. I'm so thrilled to have been chosen this week! This isn't one and done, I'm gunning for that grand prize! 🥘 January 10, 2017

  12. I haven't cooked from scratch in a long time, but @hedleyandbennett is doing a weekly challenge to get back into the kitchen. One of this week's challenges is to cook a colorful meal. Hard to jump back into cooking when you get home late, so this is my 2-day (out of circumstance) beet pasta. Handmade, hand cranked roller, tossed with a lemon, parmesan and cream sauce. We will see what shakes out in the next couple weeks. #getinthekitchenchallenge January 7, 2017
